Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Wendy Chan, founder of INBRND.
INBRND stands for “inner brand” because I believe the strongest brands start by looking inward, understanding who you are, what you’ve built, and what you want to be known for.
That clarity is what helps everything else become easier to articulate, connect, and build from.
For most of my career, I believed great work would speak for itself. So I focused on doing great work.
For more than a decade, I built marketing programs across startups and technology companies—launching products, shaping positioning, and helping companies tell clearer stories.
Then I experienced my third layoff in three years.
It forced me to confront a blind spot: I had spent my career building brands for companies, but I had never applied that same thinking to my own career.
I did what most people do—updated my résumé, refined LinkedIn, practiced interviewing, and sought advice. None of it felt like a long-term solution. I needed a way to see the full arc of my experience, articulate what made it valuable, and build something that could compound beyond any single job.
I couldn't find that system, so I built one.
I started treating my career the way I would treat a brand:
clarifying the story, creating evidence, strengthening relationships, and making each action reinforce the next.
That became Career as a Brand System™.
I first brought the framework to Fremont Tech Week to see whether it could help anyone beyond me. What stayed with me wasn't the turnout. It was hearing people say they finally had language for experiences they had carried for years but struggled to explain.
I realized I wasn't only solving my own problem.
I was solving a problem many people didn't yet know how to name.
Today, INBRND exists to help professionals who have been underestimated, misunderstood, or overlooked see themselves more clearly.
Because when you can see the full value of what you've built—not just the title you held or the résumé you inherited—you begin to see your options differently.
Sometimes the first thing that needs to change isn't your career.
It's the way you see yourself.

Why Me
Brand Strategy:
I spent a decade helping companies clarify who they are.
Career Reinventions:
Three layoffs taught me what traditional career advice couldn't.
System Thinking:
The same principles used to build enduring brands can build enduring careers.
LOOKING INWARD IS...

...heart
work.
Before we can communicate who we are to the world, we have to understand it ourselves. Clarity isn't about becoming someone new—it's about finding the language for who you've been all along. I believe the strongest careers aren't built by chasing every opportunity. They're built by intentionally reinforcing the story only you can tell.
